I’m not sure if this is a probity issue.

What do I need to do now?

Probity Advising

We can assist you to identify, consider, plan for, react to and mitigate integrity, ethics and probity risks that might arise during the procurement process and which could affect the delivery of your procurement.

Maintaining Probity and Compliance

We will support you to maintain probity, and policy and legislative compliance throughout your procurement process. Our role is to provide confidence, structure and defensibility in every decision made.

Our probity advising service helps you identify procurement process and probity requirements, assisting your team to develop a robust and defensible approach to conducting the procurement. We also deliver probity briefings for participants in the procurement process — including team members, delegates, executives and potential suppliers — to ensure shared understanding and accountability.

Advisory Support and Risk Management

We provide continuing probity advice and support throughout the procurement process. This includes reviewing and commenting on documents such as the procurement plan, approach-to-market documentation and the tender evaluation plan for probity implications.

Our team also reviews probity aspects of supplier questions, tender addenda and evaluation team clarifications to ensure consistency and transparency. We assess the probity implications of compliance screening decisions and proposed actions, including invitations to correct unintentional errors of form, and review recommendations to delegates — such as decisions to set tenders aside or to recommend a preferred tenderer.

We provide specific verbal and written advice on managing and minimising potential, emergent and live procurement probity risks and issues as they arise. Working closely with a procurement secretariat or contact officer, we identify and manage procurement probity risks — reviewing, clearing, redacting or rejecting documents supplied by potential suppliers in response to clarification requests before they are passed to the tender evaluation panel.

Managing Conflicts, Integrity and Compliance

We assist in identifying, declaring and managing conflicts of interest for procurement teams and potential suppliers. Our advisors provide guidance to delegates on relevant probity and procurement process issues, including whether any issue might require reporting to the NACC.

We review and comment on probity implications of proposed supplier feedback and debriefings, attending where required. We also advise on integrity, probity and anti-corruption issues during the contract management phase of the procurement, including conflicts of interest, Supplier Code of Conduct, contract variations and extensions.

Collaboration, Improvement and Capability Building

We liaise with other advisers such as internal procurement units, legal advisers, stakeholder groups and working groups to ensure alignment and consistent probity practice throughout the procurement. After completion, we can prepare a post-procurement probity report and provide lessons learned input to inform future activities and strengthen internal processes.

Beyond immediate procurement support, we encourage skills and knowledge transfer to procurement project team members through briefings, training and coaching. This helps teams build lasting capability, strengthening probity awareness and confidence across future projects.

Get practical, compliant, and independent support for your procurement.
